Physical Appearance
Lea is 6'1" without the bright, spiky red hair that gives him several extra inches. He has brilliant green eyes with somewhat pale skin. Now that he is a Somebody again, he has lost the purple marks on his cheeks. He also retains his Organization clothes, not yet changing out of the ankle length black coat.


Overview

Lea is a very complex person. To a point, he has retained some of the childishness from when he was younger, before Radiant Garden was destroyed. He will still be playful, playing pranks occasionally when he can. He is still reckless at times, charging in when he's overly excited, or angry. He can also come off as exceedingly easy going, shrugging off serious matters to make the others frown.

After becoming a Nobody, Lea has developed better ways to make plans. He has become a master manipulator, actor, liar, and a slew of less favorable attributes. He has done all of this to keep himself safe while he worked in the shadows with Saix until things started to fall apart. He also tried to use most of his skills to keep Roxas safe as well, though that didn't work out the way he wanted either.

What he doesn't allow anyone to see beyond the hot-headed prankster mask is that he's actually quite lonely and sad. There has been so much loss and tragedy as well as a number of things he regrets that he did that he constantly hides. Now that he's whole again, he wants redemption, but is unsure that he deserves it.

Lea is first seen as a teenager in Radiant Garden with his best friend, Isa. They stop as they encounter Ventus and Lea wants to cheer him up. The encounter is brief but Lea calls Ventus their friend before leaving to try to break into Ansem's castle. Again. As a mischievous teen, they often did this as Lea saw it as a challenge. This is where he developed his taste for sea salt ice cream as he and Isa would get it at the end of the day.

However, things did go wrong. He and Isa ended up being turned into Nobodies. His strong willfulness allowed for him to retain a human appearance and he became the eighth member of Organization XIII, right after Isa. As Axel, he and Saix remembered their Somebodies and began hatching plans to take down the Organization from the inside. They spent years working in the shadows Roxas appeared. Finally, they had a way to make progress. Axel was appointed Roxas' mentor and took to caring for the small Nobody and showing him how the Organization worked. In Castle Oblivion, Axel was able to manipulate Sora through the castle, using him to remove Marluxia and Larxene. He personally eradicated Vexen and used the Riku Replica to take out Zexion.

While he never intentionally meant to get as close to the Key as he did, they became friends and it was one more thing that pushed Saix farther from Axel. That relationship dissolved and not long after Roxas found out the truth about Xion and learned that Axel had been keeping things from him. Axel tried to keep Roxas in the Organization as the other chose to leave, attempting to express how dangerous leaving was. He didn't get the chance to say that Axel needed him as a friend.

As one of his final missions for the Organization, Axel was tasked to bring Roxas back from the digital Twilight Town. He failed and Roxas returned to Sora. In a last ditch attempt to lure Sora and find a way to bring Roxas back, Axel kidnapped Kairi. The plan ultimately failed and Axel defected from the Organization. Knowing the dangers of doing such a thing, he turned to finding ways to help guide Sora to the Castle That Never Was. In the end, Axel joined Sora in the Betwixt and Between, putting his entire being into taking out the mass of Dusks that were stopping Sora from getting to the castle.

He faded, his last act being opening a corridor to the castle and realizing that Sora made him feel like he had a heart, just like Roxas did.

Lea wakes, whole again, in Ansem's Castle with several of the others from the Organization. He searches the castle, and eventually branches out to find Braig and Isa as they should have been there as well. His search eventually leads him to decide to seek out Sora and his friends. He still has the use of the Corridors of Darkness and uses it to go to Disney Castle and King Mickey.

He proves himself to be an ally as he asks Yen Sid to make him a Keyblade Master. During his time training, he learns that Sora is in trouble with the Organization, and goes to help him. While there, he finds that Isa has been turned into one of Xehanort's vessels. After leaving and returning to the others, Lea makes some progress and is able to summon his Keyblade much to the shock of others. He is currently training with the help of Merlin and the three fairies to condense the time so he can catch up to Riku and become a Keyblade Master.

Lea leaned against in the Bailey, staring out at what was Ansem's Castle. It wasn't nearly anything like what he remembered. None of this world was. It used to be bright, vibrant, buzzing with life and light. This was not his home. He could still hear Aeleus growling at Isa and him as they ran off laughing after trying to sneak passed him again. Actually, all he had to do was go inside to get growled at, but he didn't particular want to see any of them.

He was pretty sure that there had been a few small flinches from Ienzo and Even, but that could have been hopeful thinking. He shifted slightly and looked down. He wasn't catch up to the others nearly as fast as he would have liked, even with the more intensive training. He had things to do and couldn't do them fast enough this way.

The former Flurry lifted his hand, wiggling his fingers until a small flickering flame came and went. He used to be a master of fire, calling it on a whim. It had become harder to call that wall of fire he had hidden inside so easily. He had accomplished so much as a Nobody and now he had to work himself back up to that level. It was frustrating.

Lea pushed off the stone. He wasn't sure if he would ever see Roxas again with Sora awake, but he needed to try to save Isa. He hadn't done anything to save him the last time as he watched him fall further and further under Xemnas' control. It had just seemed like he was playing his role so well. If he had his heart back, Isa was in there. He just had to get him back out.

He rubbed the back of his head as he returned to Merlin's. He had given himself a headache with everything running through his mind. Still, he gave a smirk as the magician turned to him. "Let's keep going."
