Zidane stands at 5'6. He has blond hair and blue eyes. He is light, and his muscles are developed but lean. He keeps his hair pulled back in a ponytail. He has pierced ears and dressed in lavish clothing. Still, his clothes are practical for moving, fighting, and sneaking.


Overview
Zidane is the very definition of a dashing rogue. He's playful and adventerous. He's flirty and wise in all the wrong ways. When danger arrives, you'll find Zidane in the middle of it, daggers in hand and a smirk on his lips.

Despite this, he's a deeply passionate individual. He's the type to quickly and repeatedly shoulder the weight of those around him. He cares and believes deeply in them, from friend to stranger. He's shown mercy and compassion for his enemies as well. He might be a thief, but he'd rather see a peaceful solution when one can be reached. Still, he's a rather lonely soul and seeks constant companionship. It takes a lot to bring him down, but once he's down, he goes way down.

He's also theatrical, and not just as a daring swashbuckler. Zidane loves a good performance. He delivers one himself and happily attends those of others.

Zidane was found at the age of four by a pirate captain named Baku with nothing to his name but a dagger. Try as he might, Baku was never able to learn where Zidane came from, nor was he able to ascertain why Zidane had a tail. Still, it meant little to the man or his crew. They took the boy in and raised him to be a proper thief.

That said, the crew of the Tantalus was hardly ordinary pirates. Though they were quite capable in a fight, they were content to thieve from the shadows. To do this, they pretended to be a traveling group of performer and entertainers. They would herald their destinations beforehand, giving off full theater performances as parts of the crew slipped away to look while the looting was good.

From the day he was found, he was trained to steal, fight, sail, perform, and always get what he sets his eyes on. IT was a happy life, but one destined to end eventually. When Zidane was 16, a queen uncovered their plans during a performance, The crew made off, cutting their losses, but the queen was relentless. Her men hunted down the Tantalus on the seas. The crew fought off ship after ship, attack after attack, but it eventually added up. In one battle, Zidane was knocked from the ship and forced to swim to shore. He sat on the beach and watched as the Tantalus sailed away, burning and with enemies in pursuit.

Zidane spent several days exploring the large island before finally coming across before coming across a hidden cache of illegal goods and supplies. Zidane spent several more days inside the cache, eating their food and drinking their alcohol until, one day, a ship arrived to pick up stock. Ever the performer, Zidane managed to talk his way on board of the ship. He would have been well on his way to a port city if it were not for Lord Cutler Beckett. Under his order, pirates were being hunted down, and the ship ran into trouble it couldn't begin to handle. They were forced to flee and went to undocumented waters. The crew grew lost, and the fog grew thick, making them lose their way. Soon, all they could hear was the sound of the ship crunching beneath them, and Zidane felt himself falling.

He had no idea he would wake up in another world.

The smell of salt filled the air around him as he looked out to the open ocean. Zidane knew what every pirate knew: a ship was freedom, and that was no different for the Tantalus. He raised his arms and took in a deep breath before getting back to his feet and climbing back down from the crow's nest. The horizon was still far away, and Zidane still had work to do before then.

A senseless song played on the boy's lips as he walked across the deck, past the gambling crew with little more than a nod. He made his way to the stern and gave Baku a quick salute. "All's clear, Captain," he reported. A fatherly smile spread across Baku's lips as he gave the boy an approving smile, but he said nothing.

No one ever said anything in these dreams.

As always, this was when the fog crept in. Zidane looked around, unable to see anything. He could hear the ship groan and the hull crack before the deck gave way, and he woke to the sensation of falling.

Cursing the dark of the night, Zidane ran over to turn on the light. As the flame flickered to life, he gasped for air and gathered his surroundings. He was safe. Alone somewhere he didn't recognize, far from the smell of salt and freedom.

"This... is no place for a pirate," he muttered as he quickly dressed. With his daggers firmly tucked away, he burst out of his room into the night. "Let's find some trouble."
