Physical Appearance

Terra is a bright, curious girl with mint-green hair and a fashion sense to dazzle the gods (or complete lack there of, depending on who you ask), Her hair is wavy, kept out of the way by a loose ponytail at the back of her head. She likes to wear capes, light, flowing sashes, and ribbons in her hair.



Overview

Terra is a kind and gentle soul, wrapped in a blanket of powerful magical energy bursting out of control. She does her best to direct the boundless energy within her in productive ways, though, when it is possible. The power she holds, and the lack of information she had about her origins growing up, made Terra something of an outsider. Because of this, she is rarely the first to speak, and typically allows other people to lead the conversation, grateful that they have taken the chance to speak with her at all. Her quiet is a mask that often hides the fact that she is very observant, watching with curious eyes as the people around her mull about.

Don't let her tendency to go with the flow fool you, Terra can be stubborn in her own way, when her high ideals are met with resistance. Once she has her mind set on something, she will risk life and limb to see her duty completed. It isn't that she is a push over, but that she doesn't see the point in arguing over small matters. Daily drama doesn't register for her the same way it does for humans. While this fact would seem like a strength, Terra often thinks of it as just another reason why she doesn't really belong among humans. She can't relate to their constantly swaying emotions, and often questions if her lack of emotion is a problem.

Terra looks up to Hercules, as a god who lived an outcast life similar to her own. As something of a "god" herself, she is drawn to the idea that she has a responsibility to be better than those that came before her, and to leave the worlds in a better state than she found them. This one ideal drives her to improve her control of her own magical arts, as well as her physical prowess. With discipline and strength, she can transcend her mortal body and become something more. Something that people can look up to with pride, rather than with fear and trepidation.


Likes

✔ Moogles. They are cute and squish and she loves them.

✔ shopping, but she gets self-conscious and hates to go alone.

✔ Children. She remembers her own orphan upbringing. it was hard, and she has a desire to ease the suffering of all children she meets, even if in small ways.

Terra was not born into the world as humans are. A lesser god, known as Maduin, fell in love with a human woman, and as happens in greek tragedies, they were happy until the consequences of their forbidden love tore them apart. But their love had created something precious. A child of magic and great power, channeling the power of the gods, but without the physical invulnerability that gods are famous for. In fact, everyone in the town thought she was just a normal girl, albeit with strangely colored hair...until she breathed a plume of flame at them in a fit of laughter one day.

The strange happenings did not stop there. When she was feeling sad and alone, ice would creep along the ground away from her, and when she got angry, lightning had a tendency to strike. Her mother was refused shelter or quarter by many on the basis of the child's unnatural powers, and she became known as a parasite, a demon, perhaps even the spawn of one of the titans who had ravaged the world. The fear and hatred drove Terra and her mother out of every place they sought refuge, and when her mother fell ill, there was no one to help her, no one to stop her from drifting into the clutches of Hades.

And Terra was too young to remember how much her mother tried to keep her safe, and give her a life free of torment. Instead, Terra was found by an old man named Orpheus. A prophet, poet, and lover of arts of all kinds. Orpheus was a traveler, and he took Terra under his wing because he could not bear to see a child's story end so soon. But, he soon found that no orphanage would take her, knowing what she could do. So, he took her as his own.

As Terra grew, saddened by the fear in the eyes of other children and adults that she tried to befriend, she knew she was a burden on the old man. But he said to her, time and time again. "My story is all but sung, and the tales I've woven have done their work in the world. But poetry and songs are but words, my dear Terra. You, you will be the greatest story of my life."

He kept that mantra until the day he died. Terra was sitting beside his bedside that day, wrapped in silk and satins that she knew he'd had no business spending money on for her. But there she was, at his request, looking like the beautiful star he wanted her to be, and as he let his final sleep take him, he recited a poem about her, and his hopes for her captivating story.

The next day He was buried, and two days after that, Terra was striding into Thebes with a beat-up old sword and a determined look to beat the gods. She would become a Hero worthy of one of Orpheus's epic poems. She'd earn the power she'd been given. Or she'd die trying.

Terra wiped sweat from her brow, sighing to herself at the heat. It was so hot today. Too hot for training. Her hair was frizzing like crazy in the humidity...But she had to focus! She'd practically begged and pleaded for Phil to let her train in the Colosseum. And now that she was able to do so, she couldn't possibly voice a complaint as silly as "It's too hot."

She sighed again. "Alright, Break's over, sweet cheeks," Phil chided, picking up a wooden shield. "Boy, I wish that Zack kid were still around. He'd be the perfect training buddy for ya. Man, that kid could take a lick and keep on kicking." As much as it sounded like he was insulting her, or belittling her training, Terra liked listening to Phil talk about old heroes and junior heroes he'd trained. Like that boy named Sora, who could cast magic just as she could. She wondered if maybe one day she'd have a chance to meet this boy.

"Y-Yes, Mr. Phil." She nodded, standing up from her sitting position and dusting off the uncomfortably short skirt Phil always made her train in. He was right, it was easier to do foot work in a shorter skirt, but she just couldn't get over the look on his face when she turned to face him, the one he was even now trying to hide behind that shield.

The next sword attack Terra swung at the satyr was inexplicably wreathed in flame.
