Personality
Overview
Joshua is a rather interesting person. The more obvious things about him would probably be his infuriating air of arrogance as well as how intelligent and clever he is. He also keeps his intentions to himself most of the time, making him seem even more mysterious, as he's also difficult to predict. He has made very minimal progress on acting like less of a snob due to his friends, not that he'd ever admit as much.
Joshua is generally much wiser and mature than a normal 15 year old, as he's actually been Composer for a very long time, and has observed the game for even longer than that. He’s lost track of how old he actually is.
As a general rule, he doesn't really like people. He views them as selfish creatures, and has always been hesitant to trust them. He, like Neku, finds it difficult to understand others, saying that it's actually impossible to actually do so. He doesn't believe that they can change, which spurred his decision to destroy Shibuya completely
Despite this glaring misanthropy, Joshua is an extremely lonely person. Neku was the first person aside from Kitaniji (his Conductor) and Hanekoma (his Producer) that Joshua had been able to talk to in a very long while

History
Joshua, like all who enter the game was once alive. He was an incredibly smart child, born to a very entitled and wealthy family. His complacency didn't last long, though, as Joshua began to see things that others could not; people that ‘weren't there’. Through everything he saw, he pieced together the gist of what the Reaper’s game was about. The game intrigued him far more than anything else, but what he was unaware of was that he could see all of these things because he had an unnaturally high amount of imagination, and therefore could witness what went on in higher plains without actually being there.
Of course people thought he was crazy or making it up for attention whenever he told someone, so he was made fun of quite often by his peers. He had no friends, really, and his parents were always busy with work, so when he was 15 he decided that he'd simply been born into the wrong world and that no one would miss him here. That being said, he knew that killing himself wouldn't do any good, as players weren't actually dead. Only near death, and that death wasn't technically the only way to get there, though it was the only way he could think of to forcibly tune himself to the UG. Besides, living players were illegal.
Once he managed to enter the game (car accident), he found that his knowledge of the UG had been taken as his entry fee. Even so, he didn't find it difficult to gain that information again. After surviving through the seven days with his partner, he alone was given the chance to return to life or ascend to the plane of angels, to which he simply responded, “Why would I do that? I want to be a Reaper.” which surprised the other survivors, who were deemed too weak and were erased despite surviving.
Joshua rose through the ranks of reapers with startling speed, and eventually reached the rank of Composer after defeating the previous one. As the Composer, he watched over countless games and assigned judgement for multiple, though it became incredibly lonely and tedious to do so. Through the years of being Composer, he watched the city become worse and worse. Filling with horrible people to the point that he decided that there was no way that the city could be redeemed. Darkness choked the familiar streets of his domain, people trusted each other less and less as time dragged on, crime flourished under the circumstances, and more and more people were added to his games each day. Three weeks and one particularly stubborn orange haired boy managed to change his opinion that perhaps his world could change, but the improvement came far too late and some sort of anomaly suddenly began obliterating their world. In a moment of near panic, he transported the remnants of his friends’ dreams to Traverse Town in order to save them. Surprisingly enough, the dreams took physical forms there, and Joshua simply watched the four sadly from the rooftops as they had their happy reunion. They seemed oblivious to the fact that they were still dead, but the RG on this plain seemed to be at a higher frequency- or maybe it simply didn't have a UG- either way, the other inhabitants could see them despite the four being dead. He spent the day watching them from the shadows to make sure they didn't get into trouble as well as figuring out more about their new environment.
While he was gathering information, the four friends were split into two instances of the same town, to which he was the only constant, as he existed in both simultaneously. He found out that everyone’s memory had been compromised in some way, and each was searching for their partner from the first week though that was likely because the dreams and memories he took were only fragments. In addition to his four friends, he encountered two new faces, and apparently the targets of whomever had separated his friends. Sora and Riku, who were in much the same situation as his companions.
Once Sora and Riku both left the world, Joshua was finally able to reunite the pairs of partners, but good things never seem to last. Soon enough a portal appeared in the third district and despite his warnings his friends went through the portal. When he went in after them, he found himself alone on the other side. He hasn't seen them since.

Chiming graced the dusk air, haunting notes reverberating out onto the quiet city. Though many lived there, the dusk left few people out and about. Likely scared of a cutthroat, but the boy making his way up the bell tower was unafraid. His violet eyes scanned the architecture, steps silent as he went. He wasn't particularly trying to sneak so much as it was normal for him. What could he say? He was small and light.
Emerging onto the bell tower's roof, Joshua immediately headed for the edge, looking out and leaning on the stone railing. It was cooling down now that night was falling, and the demigod bristled. He always hated the cold. It reminded him of all the days it snowed in the city and he'd catch a cold or flue from someone, be it a servant or someone on the street. His immune system handy been the greatest as a child. Or really while he'd been alive In general.
Caught up in his introspection, he began to wonder just how it had come to this. He missed home, yet he never had before. He looked back almost fondly on his life, yet it was admittedly terrible. So much neglect, little affection. He didn't understand it, and he thought he understood it all. "I suppose perhaps it's better this way," He spoke into the rapidly cooling night air. The sky had faded from Orange, red and purple hues to a solid deep blue peppered with stars attempting to shine through the clouds that intermittently floated along.
"What point is there in brooding. There's nothing I can do. As much as... Neku wishes it, there's nothing he can do either." The demigod snapped his fingers and a coat instantly enveloped him. He sat on the railing, looking out and for once not analyzing where things went wrong. He needed a break.
